Easthampton City Arts+ presents ArtHampton: Showcasing the Arts on October 1, 2011, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This second annual studio tour day sponsored by the Valley Advocate and made possible by the Massachusetts Cultural Council will feature local artists and artisans who will open their studios and display their work throughout the streets of Easthampton, sharing their processes through demonstrations, exhibits, and performances. Participating restaurants will also offer specials to visitors throughout the day.

A wide variety of artists showcasing their work will include Boss/Brown Art on Water Street, Ugone and Thomas, Lynn Latimer, and Angela Zammarelli in One Cottage Street; Marlene Rye and Catherine Gibbs in the Paragon Arts and Industry Building; City Joinery (a new woodworker/furniture designer in the area), BMW Ironworks, and Caroline Batson in Eastworks; Ron Parent and Anselblue Design Studio outside of the Old Town Hall; and Maggie Nowinski who will performing throughout the streets. Some of these artists are new to the event while others are eager to participate again because of the success of last year's attendance and response.
Offers by Easthampton restaurants can be found on the ArtHampton map. These discounts will only be available to ArtHampton viewers on October 1. Restaurants such as Nini’s Ristorante and the Apollo Grill that open after ArtHampton concludes at 3:00 p.m., will offer specials for that evening only. Other participating restaurants include the Silver Spoon, La Casita Azteca, Mt. Tom’s Homemade Ice Cream and Candy, Antonio’s Pizza and Wings and Things, Amy’s Place, Bar and Grill and more.
ArtHampton is free and open to the public. ArtHampton maps will be available during the event at locations throughout the city of Easthampton and beyond. For viewers who prefer digital to paper, a google map will soon be available via QR code found on the ECA+ website and on area flyers.
